Articles on Homophobia

I'm still not feeling quite up to snuff here, so I'm going to let the following articles speak for me. The first is titled " Rick Duncan: Gay Rights Incompatible With Religious Liberty" and it comes from the March 25, 2006 agnosticism/atheism blog. The second is titled "Some Conservatives Admit to Being Homophobes " and it comes from the March 26, 2006 edition of the agnosticism/atheism blog.

Discuss. I'll be back when I'm feeling a little better. This bed rest and lots of fluids nonsense is beginning to get a little boring. Damn the bus that didn't run over the son of a bitch who gave me this bug.

Ciao

Daniel

Hey kiddo! Where have you been! We were wondering if you had passed away or something! Glad to see you're still among the living.

Seriously, we took a look at some of recent Pew Research polls. The number of people who are strongly opposed to Gay marriage has dropped from 41 to 28 percent. At the same time general opposition is dropping as well, heading towards a 50 50 standoff. This is taking place well before older, more homophobic generations pass away. This only goes to prove what I have been saying all along. At the present rate it will only be 10 to 20 years before we classify the hate mongering homophobes where they belong--in the same category as the skin heads, Aryan Nation, the American Nazi Party, and the Ku Klux Klan.

And, Daniel, I have even more good news for you. At some point in the not too distant future Mormons will no longer be a majority in the state of Utah. I'm not saying it will be a paradise any time soon--even a vocal, ahetful minority can still do a lot of damage. On the other hand, I'm just WAITING for the Mormons to argue that gay marriage will promote polygamy. Oh PLEASE let them make my day, because the one "Christian" sect which proposes p;olygamy on religious grounds are right wing break away Mormons who, like the Islamicist counterparts in the Mideast, want the chauvanistic right to dominate and abuse more than one woman at a time--including, in some cases, child brides, whjich makes them little more than right wing, heterosexual child molesters. Yup. Real "morality" there. Maybe they graduated from the Brian Doyle School of Child Rearing!

Have a good one
